Hello 👋 I’m György, a passionate (as you can see above 🙂) Senior Software Engineer who loves programming, Python, Linux, Nix, Go and everything tech, really. I have over 10 years of experience focusing on web, REST API and Linux systems.

I worked with different Linux distributions, including Debian, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE and recently Nixos.

I have code on Mars. 🌒

Open Source and me

I can thank my career to Open Source Software and the Python community, because I started learning Python and Django which led me to my first programming job.

I wrote all kinds of Open Source software, from small Python scripts to “serious” CLI applications used by thousands of security researchers.

My Work

I worked on lot of different projects at lots of different companies, mainly in IT Security as a Software Engineer, from the smallest one-man startups (little furniture shop) to the largest multinational companies (Lidl) with all kinds of huge, legacy codebases or starting a greenfield project from scratch where I designed everything.

I also was in a CTO role at a small startup, which I enjoyed the most of my career, because people are way more complex than any code I ever dealt with. 😀 It was very interesting and challenging, I learned a lot about people, communication and leadership. Unfortunately, the startup failed.

I love teaching and mentoring junior developers, some of them became great engineers, and good friends over the years.

I’m currently working at ONEKEY, where we develop a security scanner product for embedded/IoT device firmwares.
